**taken from a mssg board**
"Here's a real American tragedy, Imminent domain being used by the government to take land from an individual, and give it to a developer. The excuse is that what the developer will build will bring in more tax money. Don't read these if you're not ready to become very angry."
Story 1
Story 2
Thanks to the last supreme court ruling, a developer can come along, look at your property & decide "i could build a condo/mini mall/warehouse and make a killing, but I don't want to buy the land from these homeowners." Then goto the local government, have them condemn the property and take it from you and the only legal reason they need now is "it will bring in more tax money."

As a nod to Airbags Deploy...

(All was said on the open channel in free server of Ragnarok Online last night):
Kamo: She's giving it to me because she sold the one I loaned her.
Suzuku: You rat, you're going to get it for telling.
Kamo: What am I gonna get? Is it waffles? Cause I like waffles... with syrup!

People who do stuff while driving bug the shit out of me. Hours are lost to me because some idiot tried to shave a few minutes out of their schedule by doing something while driving. Samples are:
1: Talk on a cell phone
2: Put on make-up/shave
3: Eat
4: & now this

(Side note: suicidally tired right now. It took me 5 attempts to get the above formatted correctly.

On the selling of nothing...
Recently I started to pick up the Decipher Star Trek RPG books for my niece. As of right now, we don't have enough to even play the game, but are definately seeking to expand the collection until we have them all.....go Pokemon mentality. Decipher recently announced that two of the sourcebooks are available in PDF only format for download at here and here.

As someone who tried to run a game using multiple PDFs, I wasn't too excited about the format releases...then I bugged some folks over at Decipher and found out...to quote "It has been said that real books are not in the foreseeable future, but may happen if PDF sales are plentiful and have steady patronage." I.E. if enough people buy the e-book, and are willing to buy it again in dead tree format...
So, I say screw it, and check back over at Drive Thru RPG. The costs for the PDF versions of the books are a bit pricy from my experience. ($20 & $25). On a whim I checked out the other offerings at Drive Thru RPG without realizing that it was all PDF downloads. Sure, there is some great out of print stuff, but it's all PDF stuff. So, someone over there should be making some fat ass cash off of this. To me, it's like paying full price of a print of a painting instead of the painting itself. Add on top of that the print is only available to view on your computer... Well, you can make a paper copy of it if you have a good enough printer, but it's probably going to cost you as much as actually buying a real book anyway. (Nevermind stuff like colour, covers, and binding).

Godzilla: Final Wars is now available in the States legaly on DVD. OMG, I love this movie. BTW: The American CGI Godzilla is in it and bad things happen to it. it's at Wal-Mart, it's less than $10, it is needed in your video collection.
(see, a post that isn't depressing or negative.)

Last 6 month update:
1: Lost my job at the Little Hitler Call Centre....Fuck it. It was the tech support for UPS. A shitty little place that cleverly found ways to fire people so they can maintain their claim that they "never downsized or laid off workers." Fucking Nazis.
2: All but 1 of my ferrets died. Last one had to be given to a friend when I left Nevada. (Be patient, it's in a bullet further along)
3: My mother-in-law gets sick, my wife goes back to Japan to visit, her Mom dies, her Dad falls to pieces.
4: We find out that someone has been robbing my wife's folks blind, and they are in a financial shambles. I am given an ultimatum to move to Japan or it's over.
5: I come up with a compromise, a move half way to Japan which seems to please everyone. I put up my house for sale, throw away half my shit, and head for Oahu.
6: Get a pretty decent job at a bank's call centre. Unlike the Nazis, these folks give a shit about their agents. I also have a part time job on a fishing boat, coddling rich drunks. Not cuddling. BIG difference.
7: I get 2 calls at about 1 am on New Years Day....1st is that my favourite sister died. 2nd was that my wife had found someone who understands her and supports her and will stay in Japan. (Note: I worked 3 jobs so she would not have to leave the house and get a job....and also to pay off thousands of dollars of her credit card debts)

Ok, there it is in a nutshell. A bit depressing, and I think that I'm entitled to be a wee bitter. But then again, I'm probably wrong.
